A Closer Look at the 2023 Fat Bob® 114

I’ve been a fan of the Harley-Davidson Fat Bob® since it’s inaugural in 2008. Maybe it’s my old-school tendencies that immediately drew me to the fat-tired bobber look... I don’t know, but I’ve always had a connection of sorts with what some would call a non typical looking Harley. 

Now don’t get me wrong, when I first saw the bike back then... I was like, nope, no way. What up with those headlamps? But then I got on one and it was over. H-D’s new stable mate was a great addition to the team and was in fact one of the best riding and handling bikes I’d ever been on.

Everything was cruising right along for about 10 years when the 2018 models were introduced and Fat Bob® got itself a nice little makeover. New features included an all-new stiffer and lighter frame with a single under seat monoshock, a 2-1-2 upswept performance exhaust, dual disc front brakes, inverted 43mm cartridge style front forks and a bullet proof Milwaukee-Eight 107 with a 114 option. Oh, and the “dualies” up front were replaced by a great looking short and wide headlamp. (Still unique to Fat Bob®.) All of this added up to even better performance and further solidified the Fat Bob® in the Harley-Davidson lineup.

Now here we are in 2023 and this bike is in its best ever form. The Milwaukee-Eight® 114 is now standard, providing 118 ft-lb of torque while still offering an estimated 47 MPG. Seat height is a low 27.7 inches and combined with a wheelbase of 63.6 inches and a fat set of tires (150/80-16 front, 180/70B16 rear) this bike remains in the running for best handling Harley ever!

And BTW... it looks fantastic! Available in Vivid Black, Gray Haze, and Redline Red (shown here)... accents include a great looking “in your face” H-D® tank graphic, “bobbed” front and rear fenders, denim black Structure cast aluminum wheels with laser etched “Harley-Davidson" logos, a step-up seat... and those glorious looking FAT, FAT tires!
