Up Close With The 2022 Harley-Davidson Road Glide® Special

Oct. 11 2022 News By Don Mitchell

The Harley-Davidson Road Glide finds its roots in the iconic Tour Glide model which was first introduced in 1979. By 1998, the model transitioned into the Road Glide and remains one of the Motorco’s most popular Grand American Touring bikes to this day.

Perhaps its most notable feature is a fixed fairing... attached to the frame which offers a stationary look and feel that provides excellent aerodynamics and a great look. The fairing is responsible for the Road Glide's nickname of “Shark” because of its resemblance to a shark.

This years Road Glide offering includes the 2022 Road Glide® Special pictured here in this stunning Apex color option which features ghosted Bar & Shield graphics. Here’s a few highlights.

MILWAUKEE-EIGHT® BIG TWIN ENGINE

The most displacement in standard H-D®Touring models. You get 114 cubic inches of passing and horizon-chasing power.

APEX FACTORY CUSTOM PAINT

From board track to flat track, enduros to hill climbs, drag racing to road racing and more, Harley-Davidson has a rich and storied racing heritage that began in the earliest days of the Motor Company and continues to this day. Inspired by paint and graphics from race bikes throughout our history, Apex factory custom paint celebrates Harley-Davidson’s legacy of winning with a paint and graphics option for select 2022 Grand American Touring models.

REFLEX™ LINKED BREMBO® BRAKES WITH STANDARD ABS

Designed to help prevent the wheels from locking under braking to assist the rider in maintaining control when braking in a straight-line. ABS operates independently on front and rear brakes to keep the wheels rolling and help prevent uncontrolled wheel lock in urgent situations.

BOOM!™ BOX GTS INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM

An evolved interface experience that offers a contemporary look, feel and function, with exceptional durability and features designed specifically for motorcycling. Every element is optimized to enhance the rider’s interaction with the bike and connectivity with the world.
